Venezuelan authorities have also accused Washington of orchestrating the assault in an attempt to seize the country’s oil and mineral resources, pledging that such efforts “will not succeed.”<\/em><\/p>\n The White House has not confirmed ordering the strikes. US President Donald Trump held a national security meeting at Mar-a-Lago ahead of the first reports of hostilities, the New York Times reported.
